Assistant/Sr. Assistant Dean of Admission


Reed College seeks a talented individual to be our next Assistant or Senior Assistant Dean of Admission. The Assistant Dean of Admission is the front-line admission professional responsible for recruitment of incoming students. They have a shared responsibility for bringing in a class of freshman that is well qualified and diverse. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week with a one hour unpaid lunch. The work hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends and evenings as well as three to six weeks of travel for international recruitment.

Please note that to be considered for the Senior Assistant Dean level you will need at least five years of experience in undergraduate admission.

Salary for this position is $40,000 - $49,000 per year.

  • Successfully recruit and enroll international students for Reed College.

  • Serve as one of two admission contacts for prospective international students, families, counselors, United World College/Davis Scholars Program and other international schools and programs.

  • Review domestic and international student applications.  

  • Represent Reed College at annual conferences and other professional events.

  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Admission (Communication and Special Projects) in developing and maintaining a communication plan for prospects, applicants, and admitted students.

  • Coordinate online events, panels, presentations, and interviews for prospects, applicants, and admitted students.

  • Assist in coordinating programs like the “Take Reed Home” and “Hello from Reed” programs.
