DSS Accommodations Coordinator

Reed College seeks a capable and dependable Accommodations Coordinator in the Office of Disability Support Services (DSS). The DSS Accommodations Coordinator reports to the Director of DSS and works closely with college staff and faculty to facilitate student success.

This is a one-year, benefitted, full-time position. Anticipated start date is January 2, 2018 and anticipated end date is December 31, 2018.

A full-time work week at Reed College is 37.5 hours and typical work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday with a one-hour unpaid lunch. Reed College offers an exceptional benefits package, including comprehensive medical and dental insurance, 22 days paid vacation per year, paid holidays, and many other campus amenities, such as membership to the campus fitness center for employees and their spouse/partner. Pay for this position is $20/hour.

  • You have at least two years’ experience working in an administrative support role.
  • Familiarity with disability support services is a plus
  • Experience working in an administrative support role at a college or university is a plus.


  • Work closely with the DSS Director to coordinate, implement, track, and monitor disability-related accommodations including:
    • Managing the coordination, supervision, and implementation of note taking, test scheduling, and alternate format text services for eligible students
    • Overseeing and producing alternate format text materials
  • Provide appropriate referrals for support for students with academic or other concerns
  • Provide administrative support for essential office functions, including:
    • Maintaining records, confidential documentation, and case notes for the department
    • Processing ongoing applications
    • Assisting with scheduling coordination, as needed
    • Updating informational materials and online text content
  • Refine office processes and create efficiencies within the department
  • Maintain a personal, individualized approach to implementing services and an understanding of current practices for disabilities services
