Faculty Administrative Coordinator (Art, Mathematics)

The Faculty Administrative Coordinator (Art, Mathematics) provides varied and complex administrative, technical and clerical support on a daily and on-going basis for the Art department and Mathematics department.  In addition to exceptional organizational and administrative skills, this position requires technical skills including competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Dropbox, computerized data management, and knowledge of, or ability to learn Web page design. Ability to manage budgets, maintain historical records and manage general departmental and divisional business is essential.

This is an 11-month non-exempt position, working 37.5 hours a week. The anticipated work schedule is 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.   • Interest in developing systems and procedures to increase efficiency in day-to-day office operations
  • Ability to work independently prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. 

  • Strong customer service orientation and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with college staff, students and the general public. 

  • Experience and willingness to engage in and support a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Knowledge of or aptitude for learning web page design and maintenance.


  • Ensures the effective operational and systematic functioning of the academic department and its programs
  • Utilizes a variety of software programs to maintain appropriate departmental information, records and policies
  • Creates and maintains a comprehensive departmental calendar. Serves as information source for faculty and students regarding department administrative activities and deadlines
  • Processes purchase orders, expense reimbursement statements, and other related requisitions
  • Maintains departmental documents such as course schedules, qualifying exams, student handbooks, catalog copy, professional guides and directories
  • Responds to a wide variety of contacts and requests for information primarily from students, faculty, and staff


Bachelor’s degree and two years of complex office and administrative support experience; or any combination of experience and education that provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job.
