Nurse Practitioner, On-Call

Health and Counseling

The On-Call Nurse Practitioner provides primary care by assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of primary physical and mental health problems for Reed College students, including health education and health counseling. Facilitates care in the community with primary care physicians and specialists.

This is a non-benefited, on-call position with starting pay of $38.00/hour, depending on experience.


  • Passion towards inclusivity in the provision of health care services
  • Awareness of the multiplicity of intersecting identities including race, ethnicity, gender identity and sexual orientation.
  • Consciousness of limitations, disparities and social inequality of health care accessibility to historically oppressed and marginalized populations.
  • Experience performing independent clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment of primary healthy problems
  • Proficiency educating and consulting students toward enhancing a healthy life style and reducing health-compromising behaviors.
  • Comfortability participating in case management and case review with nursing staff, medical consultant, and administrative director.
  • Enjoyment working with a diverse community and developing and maintaining professional relationships.


A current unencumbered license as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Oregon with prescriptive privileges. Applicants must be able to effectively engage with, and address health care needs in a manner that is respectful of and sensitive to student identities, whether similar or different from your own. Experience in primary care with adolescent and young adult patients is desired.
