Senior Data and Applications Analyst

The Senior Data and Applications Analyst is a member of the Administrative Computing Services team supporting Reed's administrative offices in the use of the student information system (Banner) and other systems and data required to further the College's mission.

This position works directly with end-users to identify, analyze, document and fulfill needs for system implementations and configurations, reporting, integration, and other data/systems and administrative user needs. Develop software solutions using Reed’s suite of programming tools, including Evisions Argos report writer and Oracle PL/SQL. This position reports to the Director of Administrative Computing Services.

This is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary of $65,000. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Collaborate with administrative users to conduct needs analysis and identify optimal technology solutions.
  • Work with other staff members to analyze and implement major system components, updates, and upgrades.
  • Work independently and with other staff members to design and implement forms, reports, and other software components as needed.
  • Work with staff in other areas of Computing & Information Services to integrate administrative systems with network utilities, web front-ends, and other campus systems.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute documentation for end users.
  • Collaborate with other departments on operations, meeting and training schedules, special projects, and other technical support activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience
  • At least three years of experience with relational databases, SQL queries and PL/SQL programming.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Oracle database software and enterprise systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise with third party reporting tools such as Evisions Argos, Crystal Reports, or Hyperion.
  • Expertise programming in a Unix environment.
  • Knowledge of database design, implementation and testing techniques.
  • Knowledge of Macintosh and Windows systems and application software.
