Faculty Administrative Coordinator

Dean of the Faculty Office

The Faculty Administrative Coordinator shares responsibility for helping the Dean of the Faculty and the Dean’s staff to provide assistance and services to the faculty. The faculty administrative coordinator is responsible for maintaining the Banner database, the faculty information system; developing and implementing faculty data systems and reporting mechanisms; supporting academic departments and programs; and editing and updating annual publications related to the faculty and faculty governance. In addition to having exceptional organizational and administrative skills, this position requires technical skills including competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Dropbox, computerized data management, and knowledge of, or ability to learn Web page design. The Faculty Administrative Coordinator is a member of the Dean’s staff and as such may contribute to any aspect of the team’s responsibilities. This position reports to the Associate to the Dean of the Faculty.

This is a 12-month, non-exempt position, working 32 hours a week (.85 FTE). The anticipated work schedule is 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The hourly pay for this position is $21.25. What You’ll Do (Essential Duties)  

  • Administer the Dean of Faculty information system, Banner, including inputting and auditing system data.  

  • Develop criteria for and write reports in ARGOS using the Banner database to fulfill requests from Dean of Faculty’s office for data.  

  • Responsible for integrity of faculty personnel data.

  • Produce annual faculty salary letters utilizing Banner database.

  • Coordinate with the college’s information technology group to make systems improvements in Banner as needed.

  • Annually update faculty listings in college catalog utilizing Banner data.

  • Annually update Faculty Handbook, Constitution and Bylaws of the Faculty and Faculty Code.

  • Annually update the Reed Guidebook; coordinate with contributing departments.

  • Provide administrative assistance for the Language Scholar program; Chinese department, Classics department; and other programs on campus.


Three years of experience working in a complex office environment providing administrative support. Experience working in information systems preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
