Reed College is seeking a Vice President for Student Life (VPSL). It’s an exciting time at Reed College, under the new leadership of President Audrey Bilger. Reporting to the President, the VPSL will have the opportunity to lead and inspire others in supporting student services, bringing new ideas, and enhancing student life programming that is consistent with the academic mission.
The VPSL leads a diverse team of highly skilled student life professionals committed to supporting the learning and growth of Reed’s intellectually curious, irreverently individualistic, and energetically passionate student body. The VPSL will provide executive and tactical leadership, manage with authenticity, and model inclusive excellence on a broad range of mission-critical issues and will have a commitment to shared governance, exercise culturally competent executive management, engage in open communication, and promote a strong health and wellness-oriented culture. In partnership with the other members of the president’s cabinet as well as members of the staff, faculty, student body, alumni, and board of trustees, the VPSL provides executive leadership on a broad range of mission-critical issues, including student success, institutional governance, long-range strategy, and risk management.
