Why Work at Reed?
You want to work with smart and kind people.
We’ve got all kinds of jobs on campus--safety officers, IT professionals, medical professionals, creatives and custodians. And we hire people from all over the US. The campus is filled with different voices and differing opinions. One thing that we’ve all figured out, though, is that it’s more important to be kind than it is to be smart.
You want to make a difference.
At Reed, every job matters. We are a community of 500 staff and faculty who come together every day to run a college. Like most private colleges, Reed is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
You believe in the power of education.
You understand that education is a powerful force for changing the world. You want to be a part of the change.
You can bring your whole self to work.
In fact, we need you to bring your whole self. Being authentic is imperative for your well-being and Reed’s well-being. Without broad diversity of life experiences, passions and perspectives, we can’t generate new ideas and be innovative in the work we do for our students.
You want an easy commute.
The TriMet MAX Orange Line runs near campus. The #10, #19, and #75 buses run right to campus. City bike routes take you straight to campus too, and we have many amenities for bike riders, including reimbursement for bike commuting expenses like tune-ups and helmets. And if you drive to work, you’ll find plenty of parking and it’s all free.
