Cybersecurity Analyst

Reed College seeks a Cybersecurity Analyst. As a Cybersecurity Analyst, your focus will be to stay up to date on IT security and to stay ahead of the game in regards to methods attackers are using to infiltrate  systems. The Cybersecurity Analyst will report to the Cybersecurity Architect.

This is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary of $90,000 per year. The work week at Reed College is 37.5 hours, and hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with a one-hour unpaid lunch. This is not a remote position.

What you’ll do 

  • Monitor networks for security breaches, violations, or other related issues 

  • Implement system security measures in accordance with established procedures to ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation

  • Investigate breaches when they occur 

  • Work in conjunction with the Cyber Security Architect and all Reed IT Divisions to develop security procedures and processes 

  • Install information security related software, and other programs, in order to analyze environment and in support of taking proactive stance in protecting sensitive information 

  • Educate others on security products and preventative measures 

  • Simulate attacks to look for vulnerabilities 

  • Research the latest trends in IT and security 

Qualifications

  • CISSP Certification or other related security certifications that demonstrate technical abilities such as CEH, CFA, GCFA, SSCP or cloud security certifications such as CCSP

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 6-8 years of relevant technical experience in network engineering, system administration or cyber security
