The Print & Mail Services Specialist is part of our Auxiliary Services department and has primary responsibility for shipping and receiving mail, operating copiers and utilizing finishing equipment in print production. This position provides excellent customer service while completing work assignments. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. A regular work week is 37.5 hours working Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm with occasional evening and weekend hours. Pay for this position starts at $20.65/hour - $22.85/hour. Who You Are
- You have been commended at work for being friendly and for having excellent customer service
- You are able to spend most of the day standing including a significant amount of time lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- You can juggle multiple detailed tasks while maintaining a high level of customer service
- You have some experience with POS, inventory management, printers or other hardware and software that requires troubleshooting and problem solving
- You are self-aware and comfortable working on teams with varying gender, racial, socio-economic, ability, sexual orientation, and cultural identities
- You are organized, can work independently and proactively maintain an orderly and clean work area
- You are flexible and able to adjust your priorities based on work need
- You are able to work with a wide variety of people; you are interested in providing guidance and supervision as needed to student employees
- You enjoy coming up with ways to improve processes/procedures
- You may have but are not required to have experience or aptitude in printing
What You’ll Do
- Operate a variety of copiers; perform preventative maintenance tasks necessary to maintain equipment in peak operating condition; diagnose fault codes, perform repair procedures or manage calls for service
- Work with equipment: binding, cutting, drilling, and collating to complete the production process
- Order supplies and maintain inventory of various materials for the copiers and binding equipment
- Process full service/variable data, First Class and Periodical bulk mailings using postal software, high speed inkjet printer, digital full color press, pallet jack and strapping machine
- Receive and distribute mail and packages; pick up and deliver completed print jobs
- Provide customer service at the counter and support customers’ use of walk-up machines
- Prepare outgoing mail and package shipments including USPS permit mailings and UPS and Fedex shipments to both domestic and international recipients. Box and process all outgoing shipments
- Enter shipping and information into computerized inventory and database management systems
- Provide direction, guidance and monitor the work of student employees
- Utilize a Reed vehicle as needed for mailings and projects
Minimum Qualifications
- Some prior customer service experience
- Valid driver license
