The Investment Office within Reed College seeks an organized and driven person to be their Investment Operations Analyst. The analyst will support and drive the operational function within the Investment Office and ensure the integrity of the transactional and financial data across all asset classes. The analyst will work in partnership with the investment team to develop accounting and financial processes, procedures, protocols and controls to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the investment function.

This position reports to the Chief Investment Officer under the division of the Vice President of Finance and Treasurer working primarily on campus interfacing with staff. This is not a remote position.

This is a part-time role with varying work hours not to exceed more than 25 per week on a regular basis. This is a limited duration staff position for up to 12-months with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement. This position is not eligible for the college benefits plans.

Starting rate for this position is $37.00 - $42.00 per hour. Pay offers are contingent upon experience and are determined through an internal pay assessment. This is an overtime eligible position on the non-exempt grade 9.

What You’ll Do

  • Work independently to manage investment operational data across the portfolio
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of performance data through reconciliation of investment transactions and market values
  • Oversight of daily operational processes including subscriptions, redemptions, and capital call and distribution activities
  • Initiate trades and other money movement transactions as directed by the investment staff
  • Perform portfolio liquidity analysis and cash flow forecasting for public and private portfolios
  • Assist with the preparation of legal documents such as subscription/redemption forms and AML requests
  • Ensure proper onboarding of new investments on custodian and other monitoring systems
  • Prepare monthly performance and market value estimates
  • Assist in the audit processes; work with relevant departments and outside auditors as necessary
  • Organize and maintain files for investments (quarterly and annual reports, K-1s, legal documents)
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing assignments
  • Undertake additional tasks and projects as requested

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of relevant work experience in financial services or investment operations 
  • Familiarity with portfolio and research management platforms is desirable
  • Endowment or foundation experience preferred
