Reed College seeks a psychology/neuroscience research assistant at the post-baccalaureate level. This role reports to Michael Pitts, Professor of Psychology. This is a grant funded, limited duration position with an end date after one year, subject to extension. Research projects will focus on isolating neural correlates of perceptual awareness in humans.

Starting pay for this position is $20-$22/hour. Pay offers are contingent upon experience and are determined through an internal pay assessment. This is an overtime eligible position on the Research pay grade.
What You’ll Do
- Program stimulation protocols in Matlab/psychtoolbox.
- EEG data acquisition using Brain Vision Recorder, EEG data analysis using ERPLAB/EEGLAB toolboxes in Matlab.
- Multivariate pattern classification using machine learning in ADAM and MVPA-lite toolboxes in Matlab.
- Advanced statistical analyses using Matlab.
- Prepare journal quality figures in adobe illustrator, draft methods and results sections for publications, prepare posters and talks for conferences.
- Lab management, including monitoring/ordering lab supplies, troubleshooting/updating lab computers and equipment, maintaining/updating procedural documentation, organizing/managing data storage on lab team drive, and training new student researchers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, or related field.
- Previous experience with Matlab and with EEG data acquisition and analysis.
